Meet Jared Casner

Hello! I recently cofounded Blacksmith InfoSec where we built a simple SaaS application to help SMBs get their security program started. Prior to this, I was the CTO at Trayt Health. Outside of work, I volunteer with DU,  the local Community Emergency Response Team (CERT), and the Cub Scouts. I am very into sports, both as a player and as a coach for my kids' soccer, basketball, and softball teams. I graduated from DU in ’04 and received my MBA from CU in '08. I live in the Bay Area with my wife Lisa and our 2 daughters.

Meet Terry Hinton

Hi, I’m Terry Hinton. My work sits at the intersection of sustainability, energy strategy, and financial data analytics. I’m driven by the idea that good technology and good data should ultimately serve people, communities, and long-term outcomes, not just short-term wins. I earned a Master of Science in Environmental Policy Management with a focus on Energy and Sustainability at DU, along with an MBA in Accounting from UP, which helped me learn how to balance purpose with practical decision-making.

What stayed with me most from my graduate experience wasn’t just the technical skills; it was the responsibility that comes with them. I try to approach my career with intention, asking how the work I do can be useful, equitable, and genuinely supportive of the communities it touches.

Outside of work, I stay active through fencing and rollerblading, which helps keep me grounded and present. As a proud member of the LGBTQ+ community, I care deeply about creating spaces where people feel seen, respected, and supported. I believe real progress happens when we lead with empathy, listen well, and build things together."

Thanks again, I really appreciate your support and help.
