The state with 10,000 lakes also has over 3,200 members that make up the DU Twin Cities Network. Whether you are an alumnus, parent, current student or friend in the DU Twin Cities Network, you are an integral connection and there are so many ways for you to plug in to help sustain this community. Whether you are moving to the Minneapolis/St. Paul area and want neighborhood recommendations or interested in gathering with fellow DU Twin Cities Network folks for a low-key hockey watch party to cheer on the Pioneers, this Network is eager to connect with you. Hi! I’m a DU alum of the Daniels College of Business 4+1 program with an MBA and Bachelors in Marketing. I live in the Twin Cities and work for Shipt as Principal Product Manager building customer data activation products. I also serve as an Alumni Ambassador for the DU Twin Cities Network. At DU I made lifelong connections and I stay active in the community to build & foster connections with current DU students and alumni. Meet Brent Thompson
Director of Regional Engagement
Brent helps guide strategy and execute engagement efforts of all alumni, families, parents and friends across the country and in select international networks as well as develops a programmatic portfolio for the regions in collaboration with Denver-based advancement team. Brent's goal is to create a culture of lifelong engagement and volunteerism among constituents in the regional markets and networks that builds our pipeline for campaign philanthropy and long-term engagement for the University's Global Network.
Brent has served in a number of different roles throughout his 15-year career in higher education for the University of Oklahoma, University of Texas system and now with the University of Denver. He is also adjunct faculty for the Executive Education in Daniels. Brent has worked in several different capacities including employer relations, career development, accreditation, and alumni engagement. Brent is a proud University of Denver and University of Oklahoma graduate and his entire wardrobe is crimson!

Alec joined the DU Advancement team as the Associate Director of Development for the Midwest Region in December of 2023, focusing on growing philanthropic partnerships with our partners in the Midwest. Alec looks forward to learning more about our alumni and friends from across the heartland in the coming months and years ahead.
